Travel basketball is designed for girls in 4th-8th grade to play against stronger competition and requires a commitment of time and effort. The travel season runs from October to the MYAS State Tournament in late February or early March. Teams will usually practice two nights a week at various gyms throughout the area. Most teams will compete in 8-10 weekend tournaments. Tournaments will be within the metro area with the possibility of an overnight out-of-town tournament. 

The BYB Scholarship program provides financial assistance for those wishing to play basketball in the Blaine Youth Basketball organization who are registered in the Anoka-Hennepin Educational Benefits Program.  Please email a copy of your district letter of participation to girls@blaineyouthbasketball.com BEFORE you register to receive the scholarship code.

Each BYB team will have a dedicated website through SportsEngine.  When rostered to a team, your player will automatically be set up in their team website.  Coaches, parents and care-givers can use the SportsEngine App for schedule updates and team communication.  A direct feed is also available for team practices and events into your electronic calendar.  For more information on how to find and use this App on iOS or Android, please click here.
