K/1 sessions will focus on basic fundamentals such as dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, etc. There are no formal K-1 teams or league play. Sessions are held in gyms with 8-foot basketball hoops to allow the girls to build confidence and to develop sound FUNdamentals.
The K-1 sessions will be Saturdays starting January 30th through March 6th.
Days: Saturdays - 1/30, 2/6, 2/27, 3/6
Times: 9am-12pm
Sessions are an hour long and you will be notified a couple weeks before the start of the program as to what session you are assigned to.
Location: Sunrise Elementary *We strongly encourage parents to attend and participate.*
More details regarding COVID-19 protocols will be communicated as we get closer to the event dates and as we get more updated guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health.
Follow the link below to register!
SESSION TIMES:
We will be running two sessions back-to-back and we have assigned half of the participants to session #1 (9:00-10:15) and half to session #2 (10:30-11:45). The gym should be open 15 minutes before and after your session for free shooting time.
**See participant lists below
WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE COURT:
In order to get the most out of these clinics we encourage a partner (parent, grandparent, older sibling, family friend, etc.) join our K-1 girls on the court . If this is not possible we understand and will make it all work out. We will also have some team games and mass drills where players will be interacting with each other without their partners during these sessions.
NOTE: Water bottles are recommended. Basketballs will be provided, but if you would like to bring your own please feel free.

"My daughter loved this session - she wants to play basketball everyday now. :-) "
"The coaches explained the drills and skills to the girls in a simple way yet made it a lot of fun."
"Great drills and I loved having the chance to participate with my daughter. "
"They were positive, enthusiastic coaches. Did a great job!"
"Terrific energy and great drills to keep it moving. Fun team building at end of sessions."
"It was a great session and my daughter loved it! Great coaches!!! Thank you so much!"
"Both of the coaches were AMAZING!! My daughter had never touched a basketball before beginning this session. Although she was new to everything she always felt like a winner because of the positive attitudes of both coaches."
1. When you arrive there will be a table with hand sanitizer and with white duct tape and markers for making name tags. Please sanitize both you and your daughter's hands and then make a name tag for your daughter. Its much easier to coach the girls when I can say their name.
2. Bring your own water bottle as the drinking fountains were taped off last time I was there.
3. You can bring your own basketball if you want but I will have balls there and I will sanitize between sessions. At this age having the appropriate ball size is really important.
4. Each player can only have one parent/partner participant, and come ready to participate!
5. Because of COVID, us adults must wear a mask at all times in the building, players can take masks off once they are in the gym.
