Girls Traveling Program Information

Travel basketball is designed to give girls in 4th-8th grade the opportunity to play against stronger competition and requires a greater commitment of time and effort. The travel season runs from October to the MYAS State Tournament in early March. Teams will usually practice two nights a week at various gyms throughout the area. Most teams will compete in 8-12 weekend tournaments. Tournaments will be within the metro area with the exception of one overnight out of town tournament.

Team Formation
Tryouts will be held in mid September. Following tryouts teams will be assigned with 8-10 players depending on participants as well as skill level. The number of teams at each grade will be determined by the number of participants and skill level as well.

Volunteer Commitment
Parents of all travel players are expected to volunteer time during the Blaine Youth Girls Tournament which will be held in February. In addition to the registration fee,  a volunteer check for $150 will be collected. Checks will not be cashed until the end of the season and ONLY IF you do not fulfill your volunteer commitment.
